Moab, Utah

Moab is located in Southeast Utah, home to two National Parks: Arches and Canyonlands. There is also a State Park (Dead Horse Point) that is known as “Grand Canyon without the Crowds”. Be sure to check out the multiple scenic drives that border the Colorado river. The town was great; plenty of good restaurants with friendly people! See more photographs of Moab

Biking:

Yes – Moab is very bike friendly - they have a new paved path that follows the highway that leads to Arches National Park, as well as following the Colorado River.

  • Colorado River Rafting, Kayaking, etc.
  • Downtown Moab

Notes:

Alert:   During the summer months, Arches National Park is another park that you will need to make a reservation using the Recreation.gov website. Create an account and select your date(s) for your visit in advance. It is a one-day pass. However, you may enter the park before 6:00 am or after 5:00 pm without reservation or park fees. It's a good time to go anyway so that you can get sunrise and sunset photos!

Any of the roads leading into and out of Moab are breathtaking. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to stop and take a photo or two!

Our Rating:

10 on the “We’re going to miss this place” scale. We need to come back, as three days was not enough.

Review: Beautiful site with amazing views of Mesas and Red Rocks that surround the park. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice amenities and close to town.
