Glacier National Park, Montana
Glacier National Parks is one of the most spectacular National Parks in the USA . Nicknamed “The Crown of the Continent, this park offers views of glaciers, beautiful turquoise blue lakes, jagged mountains and plenty of outdoor activities. It is difficult to capture its incredible splendor with a camera. You have to see for yourself!
The park is open year round, but the best time to visit the park is a very short window of time in late spring and summer. The park boasts an incredible scenic drive (“Going to the Sun Road”) which was still partially snow-covered when we visited in late June.
As the park was visited by nearly 3 million visitors in recent years, the National Park Service has instituted a Visitor Use Management Strategy to handle the volume of crowds. For peak visitor months, you must register for a vehicle pass (which is a complex process - see our suggestions below in the ‘Notes’ Section.
